We want to alert the public about a fraudulent scam that is currently circulating online and by email. Individuals have been impersonating the Mark Cuban Foundation, falsely claiming to be hiring DJs and other event service providers on our behalf.
These scammers often use social media messages, text, or email to reach out with what appears to be an official job offer to perform or provide services for a “Mark Cuban Foundation event.” They may promise upfront payments, request personal information, or ask recipients to confirm event bookings that do not exist.
Please know that these messages are not from us. The Mark Cuban Foundation does not hire event staff, DJs, or vendors through third-party recruiters, text messages, or social media.
How to Verify Legitimate Communication
If you are ever contacted about working with or providing services to the Mark Cuban Foundation, here’s how to verify it’s authentic:
- All official communication will come from an @markcubanai.org email address.
If the sender uses a Gmail, Outlook, or any other domain, it is not us. - We do not pay for services upfront.
The Mark Cuban Foundation never sends advance payments, deposit checks, or wire transfers before an event. - We will contact you directly.
If you are being considered for legitimate work with one of our events or programs, a verified team member will reach out personally and identify themselves clearly.
What to Do if You’ve Been Contacted
If you believe you’ve been targeted by this scam:
- Do not send money or personal details.
Avoid sharing banking, ID, or tax information with anyone claiming to represent the foundation. - Save all messages and screenshots.
This documentation may be useful if you report the incident. - Report the scam.
You can report the impersonation attempt to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at reportfraud.ftc.gov and to your local law enforcement agency.

The Mark Cuban Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on expanding access to artificial intelligence education for high school students through our AI Bootcamp Program. We do not host public entertainment events, nor do we hire DJs or event contractors through outside channels.
