The Partnership

The Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp has forged a meaningful partnership with Samsung, centered on its prestigious Samsung Solve for Tomorrow program, exemplifying the power of corporate collaboration in advancing STEM education. This partnership is a multi-faceted relationship that supports both our student programming and educator development initiatives.

Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow program is a nationwide competition that challenges public middle and high school students to use science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to solve real-world problems in their communities. Each year, the program awards more than $2 million in prizes to participating schools, while emphasizing problem-based learning, AI integration, equity-centered design-thinking, social impact entrepreneurship, and environmental stewardship.

At the heart of Solve for Tomorrow is a mission to advance interest, proficiency, and equity in STEM. Samsung’s commitment to that vision demonstrates its understanding that preparing young people for a STEM-powered, AI-driven future requires hands-on learning opportunities and strong mentorship from industry leaders.

Together, this partnership is grounded in a collective goal: democratizing access to cutting-edge technology. While the Mark Cuban Foundation focuses on providing free AI learning opportunities to underserved high school students across the nation, Samsung helps extend that reach through educational technology, employee mentorship, educator professional development, and hands-on STEM learning experiences for the next generation.

How the Bootcamp Supports Samsung & Vice Versa

The collaboration gained particular significance when Charlotte Dungan, Program Architect of the Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamps, served as a judge for the final round of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition, where 10 middle and high school student teams presented STEM solutions to community challenges. This involvement showcased the natural alignment between our organizations and highlighted how industry partnerships can create authentic learning experiences for students while providing valuable expertise to educational competitions.

Charlotte also participated as a panelist on Samsung’s “AI for Good: Empowering the Next Generation of Problem-Solvers” panel, exploring how AI can be harnessed to address real-world issues while emphasizing access, ethics, and responsible innovation.

Samsung supports the Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp via direct financial support for the Foundation’s Teacher Fellowship program by covering the cost of teacher shirts for participating educators—an investment that builds community while reinforcing the vital role educators play in shaping the tech talent pipeline.

Allison Stransky, CMO of Samsung Electronics America, said, “Our partnership with the Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp amplifies the mission of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow—to empower the next generation with the tools, mentorship, and mindset to use STEM and AI for good.”

About Samsung

Samsung stands as one of the world’s most influential technology companies, with a rich history spanning over five decades of innovation and a global presence that touches billions of lives daily. Founded in 1969 as Samsung Electronics Industry Co. Ltd., the company is redefining the worlds of TVs, smartphones, wearable devices, tablets, home appliances, network systems, foundry and LED solutions, and delivering a seamless connected experience through its SmartThings ecosystem and open collaboration with partners.

Samsung’s commitment to education runs deep through its corporate DNA, with Samsung’s global corporate social responsibility (CSR) vision centered on “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People.” This philosophy drives their extensive portfolio of educational initiatives – from Samsung Innovation Campus, which equips young people with future-ready skills in AI, IoT, and coding, to Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, which has provided technology and classroom resources to nearly 4,300 public schools across the U.S.

Samsung’s approach to CSR emphasizes youth education as a cornerstone of their community investment strategy. The company recognizes that empowering the next generation with STEM skills isn’t just about corporate giving, it’s about building the foundation for future innovation and economic growth. This perspective mirrors the Mark Cuban Foundation’s efforts to ensure all students, regardless of their background, have access to and career exploration opportunities.

Key Contributions

The budding partnership between Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and the Mark Cuban Foundation has yielded tangible contributions that directly impact our ability to serve students and educators, gaining valuable insights that directly inform our curriculum development and strengthen our ability to guide students from underserved communities, who make up the majority of our bootcamp participants.

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow also complements our AI Bootcamp programming by providing students with a national platform to apply their STEM knowledge to real-world problems. With 42% of 2024-2025 Solve for Tomorrow winning teams incorporating AI into community STEM solutions, the competition demonstrates how Samsung’s educational initiatives naturally extend and reinforce the concepts we teach in our bootcamps. Students who participate in both programs benefit from a more comprehensive understanding of how AI can be used as a tool for social good and community improvement.

Why This Partnership Matters

The collaboration between Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and the Mark Cuban Foundation demonstrates how strategic partnerships between corporations and educational nonprofits can create multiplier effects that expand opportunity. Together, Samsung’s global reach and technological expertise, combined with our focus on serving underserved students, address a critical gap in American education. As AI and emerging technologies reshape the future, this partnership helps ensure that access to quality AI education—and the opportunity it creates—is available to all students, not just a few.
